Terms

cin is a managed screening-room service for independent filmmakers and studios selling their own films directly to viewers. These terms define the default service scope. A signed order form or written agreement can override them.

Permitted use

cin is for direct-to-consumer film rentals, sales, pre-purchases, and release campaigns for films you own or are authorized to distribute. The customer is responsible for the film, artwork, music, subtitles, names, likenesses, territories, consumer disclosures, taxes, refunds, and chargebacks connected to their release.

cin is not a general video host, corporate training portal, course platform, creator marketplace, multi-seller catalog, ad-supported streaming network, adult content service, gambling service, or open user-generated-content platform.

Plan limits

  • cin: one active paid film and 100,000 playback minutes per month.
  • cin+: up to three active paid films and 250,000 playback minutes per month.
  • Additional active films: available by add-on or custom agreement, usually capped at five films before a custom plan.
  • Absolute cin: no cin-hosted usage allowance after handover; the customer manages their own infrastructure and costs.

Trailers, posters, subtitles, gated extras, bonus clips, and archival files do not count as separate active paid films unless they are sold as separate releases. Overage, unusual traffic spikes, 4K delivery, DRM, live events, and high-support launches may require an add-on or custom agreement.

Support and release operations

  • cin: platform/runtime fixes and email support. Setup, uploads, content operations, and custom changes are not included unless booked separately.
  • Setup add-on: default frontend connection, environment variables, domain guidance, checkout validation, and playback validation. Setup is billed separately on every tier unless a written agreement says otherwise.
  • cin+: includes up to two small requests or four hours per month, whichever is used first, after setup. This can cover film/trailer uploads, ProRes-to-streaming-source conversion, light subtitle timing/VTT help, asset updates, release-window configuration, and small platform requests. Initial setup is not included in cin+.
  • Custom work: bespoke design, additional pages, major features, campaign changes, full subtitle translation, audio mastering, legal clearance, marketing, ad buying, manual viewer support, and emergency launch support are quoted separately.

Unused support time does not roll over.

Reusable platform improvements

If we build or improve reusable platform functionality, that functionality becomes part of the cin platform and may be used for other customers. The customer receives the benefit of that functionality while their subscription is active, but no exclusivity is granted unless agreed in writing.

Customer films, artwork, subtitles, copy, brand assets, confidential campaign material, and supplied source files remain the customer's property. Bespoke design or private custom development can be assigned or licensed separately in an order form.

Included frontend repository access covers cin-owned default frontend code unless the experience is billed separately and belongs to another partner. Separately billed partner-owned experiences, designs, or custom code are governed by the relevant order form or partner agreement.

Rights and content responsibility

The customer confirms they have all rights needed to upload, stream, sell, subtitle, market, and otherwise use the supplied materials. We may request rights proof, reject material, remove access, or suspend playback if a release creates payment, legal, copyright, safety, security, or platform-risk concerns.

Payments and infrastructure

Unless agreed otherwise, the customer's Stripe account processes viewer payments and the customer is merchant of record for those viewer transactions. cin charges the customer for the selected subscription, separately billed setup, add-ons, overages, and custom work. Third-party services such as Stripe, Mux, Clerk, Vercel, DNS, and email providers remain subject to their own terms.

cin prices are net B2B prices. Applicable VAT/tax is calculated from billing details and added at checkout where required.

DRM and availability

DRM can reduce casual copying but does not guarantee piracy prevention. It can also create compatibility friction for legitimate viewers. We maintain the platform with reasonable care, but no hosting, playback, payment, or third-party service is guaranteed to be uninterrupted.
